Dream big, start small, but most of all, start.
— unknown
This is the first post on my new blog. Yep, I finally did it. No grand announcement, no fireworks, no Beyoncé-level rollout—just me showing up, typing my thoughts, and hitting publish. So, welcome! Stay tuned, subscribe, and all that good stuff because this is just the beginning.
Now, let’s talk about beginnings—or rather, our obsession with making them BIG.
Somewhere along the way, we convinced ourselves that for something to be real, it has to start with a grand entrance. We want the cinematic moment—the kind that makes for a great story. The perfect graduation day. The magical first kiss. That instant I just knew moment when you meet the love of your life. We’re out here waiting for the big bang to tell us, Yes, this is it!
But what if that’s not how life actually works?
What if the best things don’t start with fireworks but with a quiet spark? What if the love of your life enters with a casual “Hey,” instead of a rom-com-worthy meet-cute? What if your first kiss is a little awkward and not mind-blowing? What if the most important moments of our lives don’t come wrapped in neon signs screaming THIS IS THE ONE?
This obsession with big happenings has tricked us into believing that only the spectacular is worth pursuing. And because of that, we hesitate. We stall. We convince ourselves that if it’s not grand, it’s not right.
I fell into that trap when I first thought about starting this blog. I wanted lights, camera, action. I wanted glitz, glam, and all the bells and whistles. I thought my blog launch had to be epic—like, the kind of thing that makes people stop scrolling and say, Wow, she really did that! But that thinking paralyzed me. I got so caught up in making it perfect that I didn’t take the most important step—the first one.
And don’t we all do that?
We put things off because they don’t feel big enough. The idea, the opportunity, the moment—it doesn’t scream life-changing, so we sit on it, waiting for the perfect time, the perfect plan, the perfect circumstances. But here’s the truth: The biggest successes in life start with one small, imperfect step.
So why wait for the grand idea? Why tell ourselves something should only begin if it’s already flawless? What if we start now and give it the chance to become great?
This blog? It’s my small bang. And I’m rolling with it.
Let’s see where it takes us.
